Try at home recipe…Wild Garlic Hummus

A Touch of the Wild Devon Forest School

It’s that time of year for plentiful foraging for all of the treats that springtime brings. Keep your eyes peeled for Wild Garlic, growing near water and in damp places.

Take care to ID it correctly and avoid picking in regular dog walking areas, always wash well before use.

50g Wild garlic leaves washed, dried and chopped

1 tin of chickpeas drained

1 tsp cumin

1 tsp lemon juice

5 tbsp reserved chickpea liquid

1 tbsp Olive oil

Blend the first 4 ingredients, then add the olive oil and chickpea liquid until you get the consistency you want. Delicious with crackers or as a tasty dip.
