Why not join us at A Touch of the Wild for our Midsummer Family Celebration on Saturday 21st June 2025, set in the heart of our beautiful private woodland camp at Grammarcombe Woods, just outside Exeter. It’s a day to enjoy nature, reconnect as a family, and welcome the summer with joy and laughter.

A Wild Summer Celebration for All Ages

Our Midsummer event is all about slowing down and making space for those precious family moments. It’s a relaxed, fun-filled day designed for children aged 18 months and up, right through to older children and their grown-ups. From toddlers toddling through the leaves to big kids building dens, there’s something for everyone.

Expect a magical mix of woodland crafts, bubble wands, campfire cooking, and den building, all set within our stunning forest surroundings. Children can explore freely, play imaginatively, and get hands-on with nature-based activities that inspire curiosity and creativity.

Our forest school setting is fully equipped for a day of adventure. As well as our themed midsummer activities, families can enjoy all the delights of our woodland playground:

• A bustling mud kitchen perfect for messy play
• A cargo net for climbing and balancing
• Our iconic treehouse – a favourite spot for little explorers
• Swings and hammocks for a moment of calm
• Plenty of open space for free play, games, and picnics

Whether your little ones are happiest swinging between trees, cooking up mud pies, or learning how to light a fire safely with our trained forest leaders, this is a day to let them roam and thrive in the wild.

Something for the Whole Family

We believe that outdoor learning and wild play should be accessible to everyone. That’s why our events are designed to be enjoyed by the whole family. From making memories around the campfire to cheering on the best bubble wand creations, our Midsummer Family Celebration is a chance for grown-ups to switch off and join in the fun too.

The cost is £11.50 per person, and booking is essential as spaces are limited.
