Suitable For: Early Years Practitioners, Childcare settings, Nurseries, Preschools, Childminders, Nannies, People who don’t have their FSLT L3 qualification – Home Educators working with children aged 2-5years
Course Length: 9:30-3:30pm
Course cost to learners: £80, early bird booking at £65 (for March and April bookings + multiple booking discount – 2 or more on the same booking)
Learners on course: min 5, max 18
This will be a practical day in the woods at our Ofsted Outstanding Kindergarten site. The day is run by leading practitioners with combined 25+ years experience in the Outdoors and Education. There will be opportunities for: reflection on teaching pedagogy, practical activity ideas for young learners, demonstrations on linking the EYFS framework to Ofsted requirements in an Outdoor setting as well as the chance to network and see the benefits of outdoor learning first hand.
Course Objectives:
⦁     Give excellent examples of holistic outdoor learning for EYFS
⦁     Give examples: Personal, Social and Emotional Learning, Numeracy and Literacy in Outdoor settings
⦁     Demonstrate how to promote independence in the Outdoors
⦁     Empower practitioners to feel they can access the outdoors and engage in FS without having the FSLT qualification
⦁     Give meaningful examples of play and learning where tools and fire are not necessary
⦁     Support writing of Risk assessments and Risk benefits
⦁     Give case study examples of successful EYFS journeys in a FS setting (including SEND and Additional Needs being well supported in the Outdoors)
⦁     How to meet EYFS and Ofsted requirements in the outdoors
