Try at home recipe… Wild Garlic and Cheese Muffins
Wild Tots at home have been busy in the kitchen creating some delicious feasts inspired by nature, using foraged ingredients. Our top favourite has been the wild garlic and cheese muffins, delicious for lunches and easy to make with your little ones.
You could use 3 cornered leek (a wild plant), chives or spring onions, if you don’t have access to wild garlic.
Ingredients
- 225g self-raising flour
- 50g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 100g grated cheese
- 6 tbsp vegetable oil
- 150g natural yoghurt
- 125ml millk
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 big handfuls of wild garlic leaves washed and chopped
Method
- Heat oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 6.
- Mix together the self-raising and plain flour, baking powder and bicarbonate of soda in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, mix the cheese, oil, yogurt, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce and wild garlic leaves
- Combine all the ingredients and divide between the muffin cases in the muffin tin.
- Place in the oven for 20-25 mins until golden. Remove and cool slightly on a rack.
