Welcome to a New Season: Autumn Adventures in the Wild
As the summer sun begins to fade and the leaves turn to hues of gold and amber, we’re excited to welcome you to a new season at A Touch of the Wild! Autumn is one of the most magical times to be outdoors, and we can’t wait to share the wonders of the woodland with your family. Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning for another term, we’ve got plenty of exciting adventures lined up for you this autumn.
Why Autumn is the Perfect Time for Outdoor Adventures
Autumn brings with it a crispness in the air and a sense of renewal as nature prepares for the coming winter. It’s a time when the forest floor is carpeted with leaves, and the trees are laden with acorns, conkers, and other treasures waiting to be discovered. For children, autumn is a season of sensory delight, the rustling of leaves underfoot, the rich smell of damp earth, and the vibrant colours all around. It’s the perfect time for exploration, creativity, and learning in the great outdoors.
What’s New at A Touch of the Wild This Autumn
We’re thrilled to kick off the new term at Wildlings Forest Kindergarten, where our little explorers will dive into a world of discovery. This term, we’ll be focusing on the theme of seasonal change, helping the children understand how the natural world prepares for winter. Through hands-on activities like leaf collecting, nature art, and wildlife tracking, your child will develop a deep connection with nature and a sense of wonder for the world around them.
Our Wild Tots sessions will also be in full swing, offering a fantastic opportunity for toddlers and their parents to enjoy nature together. These sessions are designed to be playful and relaxed, with plenty of opportunities for free exploration, as well as guided activities that spark curiosity and learning. This autumn, we’ll be making the most of the season by creating autumnal crafts, singing songs around the campfire, and enjoying the sights and sounds of the woodland.
Why Outdoor Learning Matters
At A Touch of the Wild, we believe that nature is the best classroom. Research shows that children who spend time outdoors are not only healthier but also more resilient, creative, and better able to concentrate. Autumn, with its ever-changing landscape, provides endless opportunities for children to learn through play. Whether they’re building dens, collecting leaves, or simply running through the forest, they’re developing important skills that will serve them well in all areas of life.
