As the leaves turn golden and the days get crisper, there’s no better time for children to head outdoors and embrace nature. This October Half Term, why not give your child a week to remember – full of adventure, creativity, and fresh air, at our Woodland Adventure Club in the heart of the Devon countryside?

Whether your child loves den building, getting muddy, crafting with natural materials or cooking over a campfire, our forest setting is the ultimate playground!

What is Woodland Adventure Club?

Woodland Adventure Club is a nature-based holiday club for children aged 5 to 11, run by the experienced team at A Touch of the Wild. Based in beautiful Haldon Forest, near Exeter, our club gives children the freedom to explore, play, and learn in a safe and supportive outdoor environment.

We follow Forest School principles, that means child-led, hands-on learning, rooted in nature, with plenty of space to grow confidence and independence.

What Your Child Will Get Up To

No two days are ever the same! Activities may include:

🪵 Den building with logs, sticks and tarpaulins
🔥 Campfire cooking – toast marshmallows, make popcorn, or rustle up wild recipes
🎨 Nature crafts – clay creatures, leaf rubbings, whittling, autumn art
🔍 Scavenger hunts & mini beast safaris
🏹 Woodland games & challenges – build resilience, teamwork and confidence
🤸 Free play in the forest – climb, balance, explore, imagine!

We provide a blend of structured activities and free exploration so children feel inspired and relaxed.

This half term, we’ll be celebrating all things autumn with some exciting seasonal highlights:

🎃 Pumpkin-themed nature crafts
🍂 Autumn leaf art and conker challenges
🔥 Campfire feasts with hot chocolate

🌲 Forest trails and wildlife spotting
