Our Ofsted Report: A Proud Moment for Wildlings Forest Kindergarten in Devon

There are moments in a journey that feel really special and receiving our recent Ofsted report is definitely one of them.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Wildlings Forest Kindergarten has been recognised as achieving a Strong Standard across all areas, with safeguarding fully met.

For us, this isn’t just a result, it’s a reflection of the care, passion and dedication that goes into every day in the woods.

A nurturing, inspiring environment for every child 🌿

One of the things that means the most to us is how the report captured the feeling of Wildlings.

It described our Kindergarten as a:
“warm and nurturing setting where children feel safe, confident and secure.”

This is exactly what we strive to create, a place where children can explore, take risks, build confidence and truly be themselves.

Supporting children to thrive and grow

The report highlighted how children at Wildlings:

• Make rapid progress, especially in communication and language
• Grow in confidence and independence
• Build strong relationships with both adults and peers
• Develop a real love of learning through nature

Through our woodland environment, children experience hands-on learning every day, from storytelling around the fire circle to observing seasonal changes in the forest.

Our curriculum is rooted in the belief that children learn best when they are:

• Outdoors
• Curious
• Engaged in real-life experiences

The inspection recognised our rich outdoor curriculum, where children explore, problem-solve and develop key life skills naturally.

Whether it’s climbing, den building, or counting children at the fire circle, learning is woven into everything we do.

Strong relationships at the heart of everything

At Wildlings, relationships are everything.

The report praised the warm, respectful connections between staff and children, helping every child feel a strong sense of belonging.

We also work closely with parents, because we know that when we work together, children thrive.

A passionate team with high aspirations

We are so proud that Ofsted recognised the passion and dedication of our team, and the high expectations we hold for every child.

We are always reflecting, learning and growing, ensuring we continue to offer the very best experiences for all children in our care.
